Did you know...
In the 2+ years since the system was launched, over 1.6 million items have been created on the Advisement Database. About 1.5 million are emails and that leaves about 100,000 other items such as Comments and Course Plans. That's a lot of advising!

Tagging Audit Emails
Thanks to everyone for tagging your progress audit emails from last month as ‘3rd Semester Audit’ or ‘5th Semester Audit’. Using these labels makes it much easier to see that an audit was sent. Your hard work and dedication, especially during this busy time, are greatly appreciated!

Students with Canceled Enrollment
In Fall 2008, the Advisement Database began receiving information identifying students who have at one point registered for a term, but later dropped all courses. This information appears in the Courses page for a student with the note "canceled enrollment" for the term.
When this information was first implemented, canceled enrollment students continued to appear in the "active" or "enrolled" list of students for the semester in which they had dropped all courses. This has now been updated so that students with canceled enrollment for a term will appear on your default list of enrolled students only through the add/drop period for the term (first three weeks). These students who are no longer enrolled for the current semester will be removed from the default enrolled list at the start of the fourth week.
You can still locate your students who have canceled enrollment for a term by using the "Canceled Enrollment Term" filter under ACADEMIC FIELDS with the "Enrolled" filter.

Update to Post code filter
In addition to your official majors and minors, the "Post code" filter was also returning records for students who had been referred or manually added to the major or minor. This has been corrected so that only students with official post codes from SIS appear in the search.
Remember that the filtering by Post code can be tricky if your program's post code number is less than 240. From 1-239, post codes for majors and minors overlap, so that searching for post code 29 would return both Chemical Engineering majors and International Relations minors.
If your program post codes are 240 or higher, than the Post code field will work fine. Otherwise, you may want to use the "Program" search field instead since this filter allows you to specify which type of program you are want, such as "major-29".
To locate students referred or manually added to your programs, who have been removed from the "Post code" filter, use the "Referred or Manually Added Majors" or "Referred or Manually Added Minors" search fields. These fields are similar to the "Majors" and "Minors" search fields where you would enter the lettered code for the program, such as CHE.

Add your own Program Tab
Why:
For students that have not been referred to you or have not added your major but you still want to create a course plan, advisement sheet or email on the database you can add your own program tab.
This is good for:
*Majors/minors you have recently changed but have not updated yet
*A student you are seeing right now that you do not have access to, but will get a referral at a later time.
How To:
To do this, click on the student's profile. On the main tab bar directly under their name will list all the departments who have access. If your department does not have access click on the Add Pgrm tab to add your program.
Caution:
You will only have access to your tab, so in the future if you are not adding a major or minor, ask one of their advisers to give you a referral so you have full access.
